The Pink Method and P90x

Week 3 of The PINK Method and P90X

Well Tuesday was the start of week 3, and Ian and I have both lost 10lbs in 2 weeks! It is awesome! I will admit it is really hard to not eat cookies, cake, cupcakes, bread. . . ect I am addicted to sugar and bread! Which is not a good combination if you are trying to lose weight. Also it doesn't help when Alex over at AlexandraRose is posting about homemade donuts and chocolate covered pretzels! HAHA I have been dying looking at her posts. The drool hits the keyboard! Anyways back to the main reason I am here. I have an awesome recipe that I have created.
This is a recipe for a granola bar to help satisfy the sweet tooth cravings without packing all the processed sugars and flour into it. I used the wrong pan when I made mine so I am modifying it a little bit that way the bars come out as bars. You will see what I mean. . .

Ingredients:
DRY
2 and 2/3 C. Rolled oats
3/4 C Brown Sugar
1/2 C Wheat Germ
1 1/2 C Dried Strawberries (Chopped)
1/4 C Flax Seed
1 C Mixed Nuts (sunflower seeds, peanuts, cashews)
1/2 C Honey roasted Almond slices
 * You can substitute any dried fruit or nuts  you like  just keep it between 3 - 4 cups.
WET
9Tbs melted Butter
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
1/3 C+ 2Tbs  Honey
1 1/2 Tbs Water

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a glass cake pan.
Combine all dry ingredients including dried fruit and nuts in a bowl.
In another bowl whisk all wet ingredients.
Toss the wet ingredients in with the dry until crumbly
Press the mixture into the pan and evenly distribute making sure to get air pockets out.
Place in oven for 25-30 mins, remove and place on a cooling rack and let it sit until completely cool!
Then cut into bars and enjoy!

Now I lined my pan with parchment paper. . . . bad idea. It was so hard to get the paper off the I had to crumble my bars. :(
It still tasted so good and I bet it would be even better eaten like cereal! I guess I will have to try it! I also will be making a new batch with a different pan!
Just for fun. . . . here is a picture of what my kitchen looked like directly after!
Yikes!!!! What a disaster!!!
